Description:     Unique prototype vase, painted personally by Cocteau for Rosenthal. Jean Cocteau
                 was invited to propose various designs for Rosenthal. He painted this vase, designed
                 by Fritz Heidenreich, which was subsequently manufactured and sold as model "Têtes",
                 from 1952 onwards.
                 Black ceramic paint over glazed white porcelain. Signed and dated by the artist
                 and additionally inscribed "Hamburg", the latter not reproduced in the series
                 production. Underneath handwritten old paper label "pièce unique, ne se vend pas"
                 (unique piece, not for sale). Letter of provenance included.

Condition:       Excellent condition, tiniest flea bite on the rim. No restorations.
